Teeny Tiny Tails Social Hour: Play & Learn for Small Pups!

Got a little furball under a year old who could use some puppy pals THEIR SIZE? Or maybe your shy pup isn’t quite ready for the big leagues with more energetic or larger dogs?

Our workshop is the perfect spot for small pups (up to 15 pounds) to romp around off-leash in a safe, supervised environment with friends their size. We also welcome slightly larger, timid pups who need a confidence boost.

During playtime, we’ll help you understand healthy puppy interactions, show you how to settle your pup after all that excitement, and teach you when and how to step in to guide their play. Plus, we’ll take breaks to dive into some valuable puppy training tips!

Level I and II workshop focuses on your pup’s social skills, particularly greeting people and dogs. Students will build on using body language, energy, obedience and human-to- human education to improve your pup's social behavior. Along with greetings, we will cover appropriate leash handling, reading body language, and how to de-escalate and disengage when needed.

This workshop is appropriate for pups 4 months and older and a variety of training ability. Either attendance at Basic Obedience I, Walking Workshop I, or equivalent is a highly recommended but not a requirement to enrollment in this workshop. Our goal is to tailor this workshop to meet the needs of the students enrolled, so it changes each time. This workshop is ideal for students who have missed a week of obedience class and need a make up session; it is also great for pups that have already had training but need some extra help in solidifying what was taught in class.

Exercising our dog's brains is just as important as exercising their bodies!  This hour long workshop will focus on activities that you can do with your dog to provide mental stimulation and why it is important.

We will cover structured play, including puzzles, as well as the importance of a feeding ritual and tools you can use to make it fun and exciting for your dog.  Additionally, we will incorporate everyday household items that you can use to create your own enrichment activities.

Lastly, we will spend time discussing edible treats (frozen Kongs, lick mats, etc) and send you on your way with recipes to try at home!
